AULD SHANK TIMES REPORT
Friday evening saw the start of the Friday Poker Stars with a large turn out with a lot of high rollers taking part. Joe Smith took the first of many games. There was some great play and some duff bluffs mainly from Dynamite Dan and Tornado Tony. The big winners were Tony C and Ramsay .
The Friday Domineers saw the return of The Rocket's from his tour of duty at Harry's Bowling Emporium. Sadly a disastrous week just got worse for him when Big Ted grannied him in the prelims. Wee Shuggy mugged Tony Jr but got a fright from Tony Sr in the next round. Postie Pete was cruising till the Silver Fox stopped him in his tracks.The Final was a long game going to the limit with Tony Sr pipping The Fox.
Saturday evening saw the return of The Brilliant Pamela. There was a guest appearance of the lead singer of Killers tribute band The Nillers who gave a great version of Human.
The Sunday Doms got under way with the boys returning from the Hamilton Open which they won for the third year running. Sadly their form deserted them Big Soup and Ginger early casualties. Shellsuit Pugs, Big Ted and Smudger were goners from the start. Board Leaders The Shammy and Oor Wullie found the pace too hot to handle. Fearless Freddie powered his way through to the final where he met Wee Soup the youngster found Fearless too strong.
The Upstairs lounge was a sellout for The Lourdes Charity Show run by Anne and Cathy and friends. The acts on stage were Young Eddie , Shaz Harley and Kevin Gillan.
